The north facing entrance opens onto the large 700 sq. ft. stone floor lounge. The panoramic views of the river and field are best enjoyed in the evening here. The high arches have been designed specifically to let light in, and also reflect the old world architectural style that we in Goa are so proud of. At the far end of the hall, we have a library which may be converted into a T.V. room for the cinematically inclined. There is a ground floor en-suite bedroom for seniors adjacent to the lounge that also opens onto a lobby and the main dining area. The kitchen, pantry and staff quarters are carefully located at the rear end of the estate with their own private entry points.
The cantilevered staircase was painstakingly designed to snake alongside the wall all the way to the top of the home. Once you climb up to the first floor or take the elevator, you enter the second floor lobby which open onto the master and guest bedrooms. The master bedroom is situated in front of the house enjoying panoramic views of the surrounding countryside, whilst the bedrooms at the rear end of the home look upon the flora on either side of the estate. The Romeo and Juliet balconies are great space to chat over a cup of coffee from one bedroom to another.
The view from the top of Vista Do Rio is the pièce de résistance. As you step onto the second floor you enter the infinity swimming pool area. At the far end is the edge of the pool that overlooks the surrounding countryside, the fields and the river, whilst on the other end you can sit back and relax under the canopy and enjoy a nice cold beer, or if we had our way, a glass of Goan Feni.
